Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies only to Bitcoin Lightning payments made through usealignment.com/upgrade-btc. If you purchased ALIGNMENT Premium through the iOS App Store, refunds are handled by Apple directly — see Apple's Report a Problem page.
ALIGNMENT is operated by Hikida Consulting, incorporated in British Columbia, Canada ("we," "us," or "our").
Overview
You can request a full refund of any Bitcoin Lightning payment to ALIGNMENT within 7 days of the payment confirming. We'll refund the same number of sats you paid, minus the small Lightning routing fees that the network deducts (typically ~0.5%).
Because Bitcoin payments are irreversible at the network level, refunds are processed manually by us: you'll provide a Lightning invoice from your wallet, and we'll pay it.
Refund window
Refund requests must be received within 7 calendar days of the payment confirming on-chain. Requests received after that window will be reviewed at our discretion but are generally declined.
How to request a refund
Email contact@usealignment.com with the following:
- The email address you used to sign in when you paid.
- The approximate date and time of your payment, and which plan you bought (Monthly or Annual).
- A Lightning invoice (BOLT11) from your wallet, requesting the refund amount. Most wallets call this "Receive" or "Request". Set the amount to the number of sats you originally paid (we'll confirm the amount when we process the refund).
- A brief reason for the refund — this helps us improve.
Refund amount
Refunds are issued in sats (the same unit you paid in), not USD or other fiat. The number of sats refunded equals the number of sats you originally paid. Because Bitcoin's exchange rate fluctuates, the USD value of your refund may differ from the USD price you saw at checkout.
Lightning Network routing fees on the refund payment (typically a fraction of a percent) are deducted automatically by the network and are not recoverable.
Timeline
We'll acknowledge your request within 1 business day and process refunds within 3 business days of receiving a valid Lightning invoice. Once we send the refund, your Premium access will end immediately and your account will return to the free tier.
Exclusions
Refunds may be declined if:
- The 7-day window has passed.
- We can't verify the payment came from your account (e.g., the Lightning invoice doesn't correspond to a payment we received from you).
- We detect a pattern of repeated refund requests across multiple accounts that appears to be abuse.
- The payment was made through Apple's App Store rather than usealignment.com/upgrade-btc. App Store refunds are handled by Apple, not us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version that applies to your purchase is the version posted at the time you paid. Any changes are effective for purchases made on or after the new "Last Updated" date above.
